POSITION
The position will be responsible for selling the Excel roster of talent to a wide range of organizations for events and conferences both in person and virtual. This is a sales focused role, so candidates should have a great understanding of the sales landscape specific to the speaker business, and have experience working with talent. The position will be based in Excel’s NY, Miami, Chicago OR Los Angeles office, and open to remote for the right candidate.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Proactively identify and pursue new speaker opportunities.
Create new book of sales business as well as recruit new potential speaker clients, alongside Head of Division.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with current speakers, understanding their needs and preferences.
Present and pitch speakers to buyers, highlighting their expertise and speaking style.
Negotiate fees and contracts with buyers.
Research and identify new areas for growth for our speakers, and help build buyer database.
Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote speakers and their expertise, along with the creation of targeted marketing campaigns for speakers.
Utilize online platforms to increase speaker visibility and reach.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
Understanding of event planning and logistics process is a plus.
Proven experience in sales (at least 5 years), preferably in the events or speaker industry.
Strong understanding of the sales process and how to manage client relationships.
The pay range for this position is: $120,000- $130,000 per year. This position is also eligible for benefits and a sales bonus.
