[MLS] Contract Manager

The Contract Manager will support the Legal Department in managing and administering contracts for Major League Soccer, Soccer United Marketing and their related properties.  This role will play a key part in streamlining the contract process and preparing a range of agreements.  The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and capable of working independently as well as collaboratively.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Administer contract management process, including updating contract templates, maintaining an electronic filing system, and implementing a cross-functional contract management system

  • Support club performance group, including updating club commercial rules, reviewing club sponsorship agreements for consistency with commercial rules, and performing contract audits

  • Assist with (under supervision of MLS attorneys) templated commercial agreements, including consumer product license agreements, player appearance agreements, and community engagement agreements

  • Coordinate NDA/confidentiality agreement process across multiple departments within the organization

  • Oversee subsidiary management, including maintaining corporate books and records and managing state corporate filings

  • Maintain charts highlighting key terms of various agreements, including MLS sponsorship agreements

  • Support legal department administration, including tracking and processing legal department invoices, managing law firm engagement letters and coordinating document signatures across the organization

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Experience in contract administration for a corporate legal department preferred

  • 7+ years’ experience at a leading law firm and/or corporate legal department with relevant experience

Role is based in New York.

Starting Base Salary $90,000-$100,000. MLS/SUM base salaries are contingent upon several factors including individual qualifications, market financials, and operational business needs.
