THE ROLE
The Vice President, Business & Legal Affairs will play a critical leadership role in supporting Live Nation Productions’ legal, business, and operational activities. Reporting to the Head of Film & TV, this position is responsible for managing day-to-day business and legal matters related to development and production, assisting in the oversight of projects from greenlight to delivery, and supporting senior executives in aligning LNP’s goals with the broader Live Nation organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate with outside counsel to ensure smooth deal flow and assist in managing external legal resources.
Assist in protecting LNP’s intellectual property and rights, working alongside senior legal leadership and external legal partners.
Work closely with LNP teams and Live Nation stakeholders to support the development, production, and distribution of film and television content.
Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, ensuring alignment with LNP’s interests and compliance with legal standards.
Collaborate on operational strategies to improve efficiency, resource management, and project execution, working closely with cross-functional teams.
Lead negotiations for select production deals, distribution agreements, talent contracts, licensing agreements, and partnerships under the guidance of senior leadership.
Support the Head of Film & TV and senior leadership in managing legal and compliance matters related to film and television production, distribution, licensing, and rights acquisition.
Provide legal and business input to the Head of Film & TV and senior management, helping assess business risks and support strategic growth initiatives.
Assist in evaluating potential business opportunities, partnerships, and joint ventures as part of the larger business affairs team
REQUIREMENTS
J.D. and membership in the California Bar in good standing, or eligible to register as in-house counsel with the California Bar.
Experience supporting or working on the creative (non-legal) side of development and production in scripted television and/or film.
Demonstrated management experience, including supervising team members and working cross-functionally within an organization.
Significant experience (around 8–10 years) in entertainment law, covering both litigation and transactional matters, with exposure to big law and in-house media environments.
Strong knowledge of the legal aspects of film and television production and familiarity with the live music or broader entertainment industry.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across legal, creative, and business teams.
Highly organized, proactive, and passionate about contributing to impactful storytelling through film and television
The expected compensation for this position is: $200,000.00 USD - $250,000.00 USD
