[NEW YORK LIBERTY] Intern

The New York Liberty are looking for several Interns to join us for the Fall and Spring. The Seasonal Internship is a part-time, paid program that begins October 8th, 2025 to May 14th, 2026. Start and end dates can be flexible depending on your academic calendar.

Our Internship program is located at our Industry City Corporate Headquarters in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. Seasonal Interns are expected to work about 20-40 hours per week in office. Each intern will be assigned to a specific department or department or rotation cycle for the duration of the program.

DEPARTMENTS

Business Operations

The Business Operations intern will provide support for overall business operations, including but not limited to merchandising support, event preparation and execution, hospitality fulfillment, and research projects.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Merchandising Support: Assist with organizing inventory, maintaining product displays, and supporting merchandising logistics to ensure smooth retail operations.

  • Event Preparation: Help coordinate logistics, materials, and scheduling to ensure all elements are in place before each event.

  • Event Execution: Provide on-site support during events, including setup, guest assistance, and troubleshooting to ensure a seamless experience.

  • Hospitality Fulfillment: Manage hospitality needs such as room setup and guest services to create a welcoming environment.

  • Research Projects: Conduct and summarize research on industry trends, competitors, or internal processes to support strategic initiatives.

Marketing
The Marketing Intern will support the execution of marketing initiatives across promotions, content creation, events, and strategic planning, while gaining hands-on experience in campaign development, project management, and industry research.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Assist with promotions, content shoots, events and special projects in Marketing.

  • Assist in creating presentations around recaps and season planning

  • Help with project management for creative assets and creative planning

  • Aid in the ideation and execution of marketing strategies and campaigns

  • Assist with managing email requests through project management tools

  • Research trends and best practices within sports and team marketing

Requirements

  • Prior completion of an Undergraduate and/or Graduate Degree, with a focus in Sports Business, Marketing, and/or Communications.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite, Zoom, Dropbox, and social media channels.

  • Ability to work late nights, early mornings, and on holidays as required.

  • Working knowledge of WNBA and women’s sports landscape

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience in sports marketing and/or communications strongly preferred.

Partnership Marketing
The New York Liberty Partnership Marketing Intern will assist with needs related to the management, maintenance, and renewal of high-profile sponsor accounts.

Most importantly – we’re looking for a creative, out-of-the-box thinker that’s passionate about women’s sports, the New York Liberty and the WNBA!

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Primarily responsible for supporting to oversee and manage existing Liberty sponsor accounts

  • Aids in the ideation and execution of marketing strategies and sponsor events for multiple accounts and initiatives

  • Researches new opportunities to grow each corporate partner by keeping up-to-date with goals, objectives, and the competitive landscape of the market

  • Takes part in partner check-in calls and provides diligent recaps for internal review

  • Manages special requests for clients, which may include tickets, hosting, merchandise, gifts, etc.

  • Support the team with all additional tasks related to preparing for the 2026 Liberty season

Social Responsibility

We are looking for a New York Liberty Social Responsibility Intern to join us for the Fall and Spring. The Social Responsibility Intern will help support the Liberty's SR department serving an integral role in supporting the team's community and philanthropic efforts by creating, implementing and amplifying team driven programming.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
•    Support community-related activations in collaboration with the partnership marketing team.
•    Manage and track team and player community-related efforts for the New York Liberty.
•    Cultivate relationships with community organizations and stakeholders that align with New York Liberty social responsibility pillars.
•    Responsible for supporting and tracking inventory for community giveaways and donation requests.
•    Support community ticket allocations and distributions where appropriate.
•    Research best practices across teams and players as well as across the sport and social impact industry at large.
•    Support in drafting communications for Social Responsibility events and initiatives, including but not limited to, media advisories, press releases and recaps.

Salary Range

$18/hr
